When to stop fertility supplements after a positive test

Positive pregnancy test on a bathroom counter in morning light

Stop a high-dose fertility / TTC formula when the test is positive. Switch to a prenatal that covers NHS folic acid through 12 weeks and vitamin D. Keep a decent omega-3 (EPA and DHA) if you already use one. A TTC tub is not automatically something to run into trimester two because it is not empty.

NHS pregnancy vitamins is still 400 Β΅g folic acid daily through the first 12 weeks (5 mg if you have been prescribed it), plus vitamin D as advised (routine figure 10 Β΅g; do not exceed 100 Β΅g/day from supplements). Don’t take extra vitamin A / retinol or cod liver oil. Book the GP or midwife pathway.

Why a TTC formula and a pregnancy vitamin are different jobs

Preconception formulas are allowed to hold ingredients you would not automatically keep once there is a pregnancy: higher-dose CoQ10, NAC, ashwagandha, royal jelly, green tea extract, resveratrol, fertility-dose antioxidants. Pregnancy prenatals are built around folic acid (or a folate policy a midwife accepts), iodine, vitamin D, iron in a pregnancy-appropriate amount, and a conservative everything-else. Those lists overlap. They are not identical.

Continuing β€œbecause it was expensive” is how people end up taking ashwagandha and a green-tea extract into weeks they should be on a bland, boring prenatal. Save leftover capsules for a later TTC attempt if a clinician is happy, or don’t. Do not finish the tub β€œso it doesn’t go to waste” after two lines on a stick.

A practical stop / switch table

When TTC / fertility formula What to do instead
Still TTC or in the 90 days before IVF This is what those stacks are for NHS folic acid 400 Β΅g (or prescribed 5 mg) remains the baseline. Add omega-3. Follow the clinic.

IVF pregnancy after transfer Stop unless the unit gave a written exception Early-pregnancy clinic rules win.
Chemical pregnancy / loss, then TTC again Ask before restarting Grief first. When medically cleared to try, the 90-day clock can start again.
Already pregnant and you found this page late Stop the TTC extras now Start folic acid / a pregnancy vitamin today if you have not. Mention what you already took at booking.

How Vitality Revival formulas fit this switch

Stop Her Fertility and Him Fertility at a positive test. Her Fertility holds CoQ10 300 mg, NAC 400 mg and KSM-66 ashwagandha β€” extras you do not freelance into pregnancy. Him Fertility is a sperm-cycle stack, not antenatal care. If he still wants everyday energy after TTC, that is Him Revive, not a reason to keep the fertility tub going. We do not make a pregnancy vitamin; follow the NHS folic acid / vitamin D line and whatever your midwife names.

FAQ

Can he keep taking a male fertility stack in pregnancy?

It is not for the pregnancy. Stop unless you are already planning another cycle and a clinician says otherwise. Everyday energy is a different job from a sperm-cycle stack.

What about vitamin D and omega-3?

Vitamin D stays in the NHS conversation. Omega-3 from food or a pregnancy-appropriate oil is a separate, usually reasonable extra β€” check the vitamin A content.
